Stephen G. Thein, PhD, Director, has conducted over 250 clinical trials in the past 35 years. Dr. Thein is a clinical psychologist and received his PhD in professional psychology in 1974 and completed specialty training in neuropsychopharmacology at San Diego Neuropsychiatric Medical Clinic. He is recognized as a leading researcher and lecturer in CNS/Neurology. He is an active member of the ADCS and his work has been published in several peer-review journals, including the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Annals of Neurology, Neurology, and the Journal of the American Medical Association. Dr. Thein is a member of the American Board of Psychological Specialties, American College of Forensic Examiners, American Psychological Association, Association for the Advancement of Psychology, the National Register, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and Prescribing Psychologists' Register, and he is a fellow of the American College of Advanced Practice Psychologists. Dr. Thein serves as consultant to the pharmaceutical industry including assisting with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) protocol design, preparation of training videos/tools, and is a member of the advisory boards and has contributed to pharmaceutical training scales and publications of AD. He was also involved in the original development of the CIBIC(+) as a primary AD assessment tool. |

Jill E. Crusey, PhD became involved in the field of aging and memory while developing one of the first Older Adult programs in psychiatry at Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois. Subsequently, her research and teaching efforts have focused on an aging population and the social, emotional, and physical consequences. Dr. Crusey has been affiliated with Pacific Research Network, Inc. for over twenty years, and during that time she has participated on over fifty trials related to dementia, Alzheimer's, and other memory concerns. |

Thomas J. Reilly, MD has come to the field of clinical research through his Vice Chairmanship of the Institutional Review Board of Biomedical Research Institute of America in San Diego, California. He has reviewed hundreds of protocols with a view to safety of participation for the subjects as well as the merits of the research protocol in general. Prior to joining Pacific Research Network, Dr. Reilly worked as a flight surgeon and emergency room physician for the United States Navy. As a civilian, he joined Sharp-Rees Stealy Medical Group in San Diego as their Associate Medical Director. Dr. Reilly received his medical degree from Georgetown University and his Masters in Public Health from San Diego State University. Currently Dr. Reilly serves as both Principal and Sub-Investigator on several trials. |

John J. Doria, MD is a well established member of the San Diego Family Medical community. He has worked with Pacific Research Network, Inc. since 1984, and was one of the founders of Sharp Rees-Stealy Family Practice Department, La Mesa. This licensed family practitioner and staff physician has served on many CNS trials as Sub-Investigator and Principal Investigator for the research site. |

Maryann Dean, MD is board certified in neurology and psychiatry. Since joining our staff, she has served as Principal and Sub-Investigator on several studies which include: Alzheimer's, sleep, anxiety, and other CNS trials. |

Renata Shafor, MD is a San Diego based neurologist who has worked as a sub-investigator with Pacific Research Network since 1982. After having spent many years as an experienced Principal and Sub-Investigator while operating a private practice and sleep center, and in 1986 while employed with Scripps Clinical and Research Foundation in La Jolla, California, Dr. Shafor is currently the Medical Director of Pacific Research Network's 7-bed sleep center. Dr. Shafor's relationship with Pacific Research Network spans over 20 years. She is actively licensed by the state of California as a Physician & Surgeon, the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and is an Accredited Clinical Polysomnographer. The Pacific Research Network sleep center is certified by the American Sleep Disorders Association. |

Pacific Research Network opened its doors in 1988. The center's office occupies 6,000 square feet of dedicated research space, and includes 7 beds in private rooms for Phase I-IV, sleep, and migraine trials. The site is certified by the American Sleep Disorders Association. The center is just two miles from the San Diego International Airport and is conveniently located in the heart of San Diego with easy access by public transportation including bus, the San Diego Trolley, and taxi. In addition, the site has a satellite clinic located within The Scripps Coastal Medical Center.Equipment & Diagnostic Services:
